A low profile neutral lightweight shoe with aggressive lugs for increased traction and cushioning
The Sportiva Crosslite provides amazing traction and cushioning with its well-spaced sticky rubber lugs that deform upon impact to reduce impact force. Awarded the Runner’s World Best Buy award for 2008, the Crosslite provides an excellent lightweight snug fit with its integral external scree guard that locks down the upper and the nimble flexible midsole provides excellent cushion and response for those tricky foot dabbing sequences on the trail. Great for medium to long distances and for runners that prefer a more deconstructed shoe with great traction.
The Sportiva Crosslite is more robust and torsionally stiffer than most of the Innovate shoes. The fore-foot of the Crosslite is very flexible whilst the extra torsional stiffness at the rear of the shoe provides some of the best ankle support found in a running shoe.

I'm now on my second pair of Crosslites and I have to say I've been very impressed with their overall performance. Pretty comfortable straight out of the box and not a blister or bruised toes. I must have a Crosslite shaped foot ! I wear an orthotic footbed in my fell shoes and at first the neoprene cover over the laces was a little tight but this soon bedded in after a couple of runs.
On my first run I was a little concerned that the soles were a bit slippy on wet rock but the grip improved with use, prehaps there is a releasing agent used on the mould when the sole units are manufactured. I have never found any shoe to be perfect on wet rock, either way I would say the grip has performed no worse than my previous pair of innov8's which also wore out much faster !
The Crosslite has a little more torsional support than a pure fell shoe which is perfect for my style of running ( i.e.no style ! ). A lot of my regular training routes involve a short pavement/road section to get to the local moor side and the Crosslite copes fine with this as well as giving great traction on wet mud and grass, performing well on steep ascents and descents. If the Sportiva crosslite fits your foot, it's a great shoe for fell running and mountain marathons, I can't recommend it enough ! .................... Andy Hall

Remember to bring your favourite socks and any orthotic/arch support footbeds with you. If you are unsure about the fit or choice of your footwear, please ring the shop as unused/unsoiled footwear can be exchanged and put back into stock.
The comfort and performance of this type of footwear is greatly enhanced by the use of orthotic/arch support footbeds such as those from Conformable or Sole, which we feel out perform footbeds from companies such as Superfeet. Due to a total lack of foot support, we do not recommend the use of Sorbothane footbeds or the poor quality stick on soft foam pads placed under the arch on a normal footbed by many running shops.
