Conformable Custom Trek TX footbeds are the ultimate custom fit solution. These arch support footbeds are custom moulded to the specific shape of your foot. These insoles will make you feel comfortable and provide a secure foothold whatever the terrain. Lasting pleasure and protection for your feet and body, mile after mile.
Orthotic/arch support footbeds enhance comfort and performance, providing superior foot stabilisation and aiding posture when compared to the cheap non-supportive footbeds supplied in most outdoor footwear.
How do we mould them to your feet ?
Conformable footbeds are made by taking a vacuum impression of the feet. This is done on a special vacuum moulding machine. A hard impression or mould of the feet is made paying particular attention to posture and alignment. Most of the time this is done with the customer standing but some times a seated mould is necessary depending on the foot/arch type we are working with.
The flat - unshaped footbeds are heated to a specific temperature in our ovens to soften the materials. When pliable enough they are placed into the foot moulds and weight is applied whilst they cool. The cool footbeds are then finished by hand and for some customers this is the end of the process.
For a lot of customers we recommend the addition of a heel stabiliser. These are recomended for customers with heavilly collapsing arches or customers requiring the top level of support and postural alignment. This is particulary recomended for activities such as running, long distance walking or skiing.
We can make three different versions of this product, each one offering a different level of support. The three different options cost £50.00 , £60.00 and £75.00.
Unlike other custom fit products available, Conformable orthotic footbeds can be tweaked and tuned to provide the ultimate cutom fit solution.
Due to the time it can take to make these footbeds, it is a good idea to book an appointment in advance of your visit to the shop.
