The latest version of the award winning Scott Mission Free Ride ski. The Scott Mission is a great tool for off piste skiers and Free Riders wanting to access the whole mountain. Soft in flex with a mid-fat Free Ride footprint, the Scott Mission has plenty of float, is effortless and nimble in soft snow. The Mission handles well in most snow conditions except for the worst of breakable crust. Ideal for thrill seekers spending 75 % of their time off piste. A legendary ski with proven backcountry credentials, the Scott Mission is justly popular amongst Free Riders, Telemarkers and Ski Mountaineers.
For Free Ride/Off Piste skiing. These skis are not over stiff, so they might be over powered by those seeking super high speed crud-busting skis, however for most of us mere mortals the Mission is a great choice, performing superbly in a wide range of terrain and snow conditions. The Scott Mission works well when teamed up with the basic Salomon/scott bindings or the more robust Dynastar/Look PX 12 Lifter bindings. Fritschi Free Ride Pro and Marker Baron/Duke free Ride bindings also work well with this ski(avoid the Marker Tour TR series of bindings though as they have had some durability issues).
For Ski Mountaineering. The Scott Mission is relatively light in weight for a ski of this width and is popular with Ski Mountaineers. Scott Mission is a great ski if you only want one ski to do everything, Ski Mountaineering, Off piste skiing and Free Riding. The Scott Mission works well when teamed up with Fritschi or Dynafit TLT bindings (avoid the basic Dynafit TLT Speed and Marker Tour TR series of bindings as they have had some durability issues). If you are intending to use the Mission for all round, piste and off piste we recomend avoiding the Dynafit TLT bindings as thay have no toe release and are not robust enough for general resort use.
For Telemarking. The Scott Mission is suitable for both beginner and advanced Telemarkers. The Mission carves well on piste and is ideal for most skiers. However hard charging, fast, aggressive piste Telemarkers may wish to consider a slightly stiffer ski with more vibration damping. The Scott Mission is ideal for a mix of Piste and Off Piste Telemarking. The Scott Mission great matched up with Rottafella's NTN and Cobra R8 bindings or 7TM's Power series of 75mm bindings, riser shims may be necessary.
For Resort/Alpine Piste skiing. Around resort, the Mission carves surprisingly well on hard pack, holding an impressive edge on all but the steepest, iciest of groomers. However if you are a hard charging, fast, aggressive skier on piste you may wish to consider a stiffer ski with more vibration damping, skis of this type without a metal laminate tend not to be as quick edge to edge as a dedicted piste ski. The Scott Mission works well teamed up with either the basic Salomon/Scott bindings or the more robust Dynastar/Look Px 12 Lifter bindings. Marker Baron and Duke Free Ride bindings also work well with this ski.
