Scarpa Tornado Pro Thermo :
Scarpa's Tornado Pro is an ideal boot for committed off piste skiers wanting to access the whole of the mountain. Blending standard ski boot disign with the performance enhancing features of ski mountaineering boots, the Tornado is a free ride boot with huge potential. The Tornado Pro is a great choice for the off piste skier reqiuring a technical ski boot for a mix of resort and backcountry skiing.
The Tornado Pro comes with two interchangable sole units and two pairs of tongues (one stiff, one soft).
For resort use with standard downhill bindings, there is an I.S.O. standard sole unit compatible with most alpine bindings. With the stiff tongues fitted, the cuff has more skiing support. The forward lean angle of the cuff can be adjusted and set between 19 and 23 degrees.
For backcountry use, the sole unit can be changed for a rubber mountaineering sole with a heel and built in rocker to the fore foot. This sole unit is not compatible with standard downhill bindings but is ideal for use in free ride and ski mountaineering bindings. This sole unit is safer when scrambling around glacial morain and on extended boot ups. Fit the soft tongues and the forward flex of the boots is more forgiving on long skinning ascents and walk ins/outs.
