Scarpa Spirit 4 Thermo : Scarpa Spirit 4 . Contrary to popular belief, the Scarpa Spirit 4 has not replaced the  much loved Denali TT in Scarpa's range. This is mainly down to the fact that both boots fit different foot shapes. The Spirit 4 however reinforces Scarpa,s reputation as the worlds leading manufacturer of ski touring boots, a superb example of inovation, quality and performance.

Our Advice : Scarpa Spirit 4 Thermo : The Scarpa Spirit 4 is a four buckle version of the Spirit 3. A last minute decision by Scarpa to supply the boots with two tongues, means the Spirit 4 now makes a great all rounder. The stiffer black tongues are intended for resort based piste and off piste skiing, whilst the softer more flexible tongues are intended for touring. These are now, a do anything, go anywhere, performance ski mountaineering boot.

    The fit of the Spirit 4 is lower in volume compared to Scarpa's Denali TT. There is less volume over the top of the foot, most noticabley in the instep and toe box area. Also slightly slimmer in width, the Spirit 4 tends to suit people with a lower volume, slimmer foot. Due to the way the buckles are mounted, we are unable to do a great deal of stetching in the forefoot area of the shells. If you think you have a higher volume, or wide foot that might require stretching on the shells, then Scarpas Denali TT Thermo is the better choice. If you have the right shape and volume foot for the Spirit 4, it is an excellent boot for a mix of touring, off piste and piste skiing. The Spirit 4 comes with a custom thermoform inner and is compatible with Dynafit bindings. Not suitable for use in standard downhill bindings.
