These boots have a custom fit inner boot and need to be fitted by an experienced boot fitter. Custom boot fitting is available in store, this includes our ski boot fit guarantee. We recommend booking an appointment as we may not be able to accomodate you if you just turn up unannounced. This service costs an additional £15.00

The Scarpa Maestrale Intuition is one of the lightest 4 buckle Ski Mountaineering boots available, combining lightweight with downhill performance. The Scarpa Maestrale is built around a new shape last from Scarpa that is slightly assymetric in fit and anatomically one of the most advanced in Scarpa's range. Although the Scarpa Maestrale is remarkably light in weight, it is still stiff enough to drive the modern breed of Ski Mountaineering skis well as some of the heavier , wider Free Ride skis that are popular with British Ski Mountaineers. This is achieved through the Maestrale's new Evo V-Frame which stiffens up the cuff as well as increasing power transmission through the ski, greatly improving control.
For Ski Mountaineering The Scarpa Maestrale was incredibly popular with our customers last season and has already built a loyal following. The Maestrale has one of the best walk modes we have seen on a Ski Mountaineering boot in recent years, making them much more comfortable when off the skis scrambling over morrain or walking out below the snow line. The Scarpa Maestrale weighs in at an impressive 3.06 Kg per pair (mondo 27), a considerable weight saving over previous models. The Intuition liners are regarded as some of the best available, holding their shape and insulating the foot well compared with other inner boots. Scarpa have also launched a 3 buckle version of the Maestrale which is slightly lighter in weight but at the expense of durability. The 4 buckle Maestrale has much smaller mesh panels on the cuff which are less likely to to be damaged by bagage handlers at airports compared with the larger panels on the 3 buckle version. The 4 buckle version of the Maestrale also offers more skiing support in the way it holds the foot.
For Free Ride/ Off Piste skiing The Scarpa Maestrale is first and Foremost a Ski Mountaineering boot but does work well on wider Free Ride Skis. If your main activity is Ski Mountaineering but you want a boot that will also do for Off piste skiing, then the scarpa Maestrale is a good choice. However if your main skiing activity is resort based Off Piste skiing, with the occasional day tour or overnight tour, a free ride boot is probably a better choice as they will be more durable and offer increased skiing support.
For Resort/ Piste skiing The Scarpa Maestrale performs remakably well for occasional use on piste. However for regular use on piste by aggressive hard chargers, a Ski Mountaineering boot is probably the wrong choice. The Scarpa Maestrale can not be used in ordinary ski bindings.
