Ideally suited to hill, mountain and glacier walking on rugged terrain and the occasional easier alpine and Uk winter climb. Excels in winter walking, where crampons are used for extended periods. Close to a staggering 10% weight loss has been achieved by moving to the New Jorasses sole unit and pro-fiber midsole, in turn the boot has been lowered, making it more dexterous and stable underfoot. Despite the weight reduction we have been able to add a generous rubber rand, which adds protection and abrasion resistance. The Last changes to DL, as used on the Mirage, a form that has proven to be exceptionally comfortable and universal in its fitting ability.

The comfort and performance of this type of footwear is greatly enhanced by the use of orthotic/arch support footbeds such as those from Conformable or Sole, which we feel out perform footbeds from companies such as Superfeet. Due to a total lack of foot support, we do not recommend the use of Sorbothane footbeds for hillwalking.
