Scarpa F1 : Lightweight ski mountaineering race boot, used by 98% of competitors in Europe. The unique bellows construction on the boot upper allows for a more efficient flex and stride pattern when skinning at speed. This is a specialist boot, suitable for fast and light touring or competitions, using dynafit bindings. Due to the lightweight construction, you need to be a high standard skier in order to ski well on descents in this type of boot.
Good for: Competitors and fit, high standard ski tourers seeking ultimate speed on ascents, rather than highest possible performance on descents.
Avoid for: Multiday tours and skiing with anything but just a light sac on.
NB A small riser pad is required on the ski below the flex point of the boot in order to ski properly on the descents - so you need to contact us to discuss this before purchasing.
