Fritschi Diamir Explore : Fritschi Diamir Explore Ski mountaineering Bindings : Reliability, Safety and versatility have made the Fritschi Explore the worlds most popular ski mountaineering binding. Easy to opperate and realatively light weight at 1.6kg, the Explore is robust enough to withstand the wear and tear of general touring. Heel and toe release mechanisms make Fritschi bindings some of the safest available. Their simple design means they are easy to maintain and repair on the hill. The Explore comes with a set of retaining leashes and has return springs fitted. Optional brakes and binding crampons are also available as extras. The Explore is available in 3 sizes.

Our Advice: Fritschi have designed the Explore for use as a touring binding. Whilst it will cope with a mixture of piste and touring use, those wishing to use their kit on piste a lot, or use for resort based off piste skiing should consider using Fritschi's Free Ride bindings for all round use. As a general rule, we find the Explore suits all round use by people weighing less than 75-80 Kg, heavier build and very aggressive skiers should consider using Fritschi's Free Ride Plus bindings.
