Coltex Hard Wax Skin Proofer : This hard wax from Colltex is for the proofing of skins, to prevent them wetting out and snow balling up. To treat your skins with this wax, rub the wax block all over the skin's plush. Rubbing a waxing iron over this on a low setting, will help to impregnate the skin's fibres. Repeat the process three or four times to proof the fibres thoroughly.
When travelling in cold temperatures, this wax can also be rubbed cold onto your ski ski edges, this will help prevent ice forming on them. The ice on ski edges can form, trnsfering it'self onto the skin's plush, inevitably leading to snow balling up on skins and the icing up of ski soles.
