Free Ride / Off Piste Bindings

If you are a committed Free Rider or Off Piste Skier and intend skinning away from lift stations in search of more adventurous skiing, choose the Marker Duke or Fritschi Bindings depending on how far you want to travel. These both have a ski mountaineering design allowing the binding heel to be released for ascending and locked down for descending. The Duke is heavier and designed for extreme use with up to 16 din setting, whereas the Fritschi Freeride bindings are reliable with a proven track record and are justifiably the worlds most popular.
For resort based, lift accessed off-piste skiing, choose standard alpine bindings such as those from Scott or Salomon. These are conventional bindings, do not feature a walk mode and should only be used with a standard ski boot sole.
