Arva Axes Avalanche Transceiver

Now in it's 3rd season, the Arva Axis has a redesigned outer casing this year. The Arva Axis is incredibly popular in Europe and the U.S. due to it's user friendly interface. The Arva Axis is a dual annalogue/digital transceiver so is a step up from the basic B.C.A tracker 2 and Mammut Element which only use digital signals.

Just like the top of the range units, the Arva Axes combines both analog and digital technology, with customisable user settings.  Powered by the latest high speed 16 bit processor, the unit gives real time distance and direction information in order to home in quickly during the initial search phase. For advanced and professional users, it's also easy to switch to analogue mode for complex search situations, where signal sensitivity can be fully adjusted and earphones used if desired.
The Arva Axes is a tripple antenna unit. The third antenna switches on in the last 10 meters in order to increase accuracy for the final pinpoint search. The other important feature of 3 antennae devices is that they avoid the problem of confusing signal spikes caused by deep burial situations.
With multiple burials, users can mark the first buried victim and go easily to the next closest buried victim. The unit provides an estimate of the number of buried victims (1, 2, or multiple victims).  Comes with holster and batteries.
The Arva Axis, B.C.A Tracker 2 and Mammut Element all function like a traditional avalanche transceivers, guiding the rescuer along flux lines to the burried victim. This means that they are all slower in the final search phase compared to the Arva Link and the Mammut Barryvox Pulse which have internal compasses to guide the user in a straight line to the burried victim.
